THE SOLUTION

The ARCAD solution for Unix/Aix/Linux deployment covers both the specific needs of software vendors (patch and cumulative releases) and of user companies that have a large number of machines (synchronized deployments). Its very powerful deployment functions permit monitoring of version levels directly on the objects themselves and remotely if they are distributed onto other servers or partitions.

ARCAD-Deliver is able to fully manage multi-platform configurations, deploying programs and files in UNIX/Linux/Aix libraries at the same time as executables (all default processes supplied with the product can be easily customized for use on diverse platforms). Its major strength is that both the IBM i and heterogeneous components are managed within a single process.

Thanks to its internal technology, ARCAD-Deliver can transport all UNIX/Linux/Aix components together. The installation on the remote servers automatically creates subdirectories identical to those in the reference environment. The solution uses ANT technology (ant.apache.org). All logs are centralized on a single server to facilitate piloting and control. This log information is provided at a physical level (Which component has been installed? On which server? By whom? When? etc.) and also at the logical level (Which application version is installed on which site?).

To guarantee the security of these automatic transfers, ARCAD provides powerful rollback functions. In the event an error occurs during the installation of any component, the operation can be cancelled and the previous state of the components will be restored, whatever the host platform.
