Request Tracking Connectors (Jira, Rational Clear Quest, ARS Remedy...)

The management of user requests is more and more considered as mandatory in a software change process. This is even a key requirement if you are submitted to SOX constraints or any other regulatory laws. Whether you are already equipped with a product of the market, or you have your own built-in solution, having a bridge between your help-Desk and your software configuration management is a must.

THE SOLUTION

Thanks to its internal Connector technology, the ARCAD-Skipper solution allows you to interconnect it with the request tracking solution you use. You can either built your own interface using the different tools we provide, or use an existing pre-built interface if you use one of the following products:

Rational ClearQuest by IBM

As a Value Added Partner, ARCAD can provide all the licenses and skills needed to set up a ClearQuest agent. It offers a bi-directional Request Form interface for ClearQuest and ARCAD “Maintenance Reports”. As soon as a new Defect is created within Clearquest, you can then generate a new maintenance report within ARCAD-Skipper and then link it to a version number. The status of each document of both sides will automatically change during the different stages of the change process.

Jira by Atlassian Software Systems

The connector between ARCAD-Skipper and Jira offers a solution allowing you to capture and send bi-directional flows, to manage their content and automatically update each product database. This interface offers:

• A task manager for detecting status changes,
• A flow generator for reacting on those status changes,
• A processor of entering flows,
• A database updater,
• A communication layer for managing the flow.

With this connector ARCAD-Skipper and Jira can be considered as “loosely coupled”. This guarantees no pains when upgrading to future releases.
