XRef

ARCAD-Verifier include IBM i Object XRef Feature. It dynamically records the references of the used object during test scenario capture or execution. You will find in this XRef all objects that have been called or used to realize a function of your application. There is 2 interest of this feature:

• In knowledge area, this allow you to have dynamic XRef that is more close to the reality by opposition of Static XRef that analyze the source code but can’t simulate the data and can’t detect which part of the code is really used as well as ignore dynamics call. The dynamic and static XRef are complementary way.
• In test part, it increase the productivity of the tool by efficiently select which scenario to use for doing regression testing. It is able to detect which scenario is using delivered objects (by dev. Team), eliminate those which have no direct contact with delivered objects and by the same way indicate the Objects coverage to prevent missing test.

Data management

One of ARCAD-Deliver data management features is able to dynamically record all the used records files during test scenario capture or execution. This recording option allows ARCAD-verifier to rebuild what we call a dedicated context for future execution that gives test data independence. A dedicated context is a test environment but dedicated to a one shot test. It does not contain the entire database, but only a subset (recorded data) injected at the scenario execution start.

• It increase dramatically the reusability of test scenario à productivity
• Make scenario become independent à productivity
• Highly increase productivity (remove Data management task, like save restore test data)
