EDITORIAL
by Philip MAGNE, CEO
I'm back from an Asian tour: Singapore, Indonesia, Malaysia and finally Thailand, where I could take a well deserved holiday. This travel marathon is the direct result of our increasingly close relationship with the IBM Rational brand, which explains why so much progress has been made in this region. None of us can forget that this is one of the most dynamic parts of the world, where the high equipment ownership rate allows a glimpse of particularly attractive prospects for growth.
But it's not over, it's time for North America next week. I’m afraid my carbon footprint is going to be appalling.
It all started in May 2010. The Toronto labs suggested that we supplement the Rational offering with our AS/400 application deployment. The technical bridge was developed in a matter of weeks thanks to the unbelievable flexibility of ARCAD’s architecture (and the unbelievable efficiency of our R&D department).
This extension then successfully received “Ready for Rational” validation so it can be officially listed as a partner solution1. Then the extension won us a prize at the Innovate conference, the main event in the world of Rational, which was held in Orlando in June as it is every year.
We are very pleased and proud to be working as a team with Rational.

We contribute all of the know-how that we have built up over 19-plus years, and in return IBM gives us access to a well-established network of partners that is eager for this technology that they’ve been waiting for. These are the basis of a partnership that is built on durability and effectiveness.
Read on to explore some of the details of this incredible journey, which still has a long road ahead.
I’d also like to take this opportunity to wish you an excellent vacation if you are not already on holiday, and best wishes to those of you who are. And above all, don’t forget to come join us at our next User Forum on 16 September. We are preparing some pleasant surprises and an outstanding party for you. This will be a really good way to start off the fall.
Sincerely,
Philip MAGNE
CEO

IBM Rational and ARCAD a long-term partnership...
by Michel Mouchon, Technical Director

|
|
In the application development field, the IBM Rational products have been well known and recognized for quality for several years. The superior interaction of these products with the ARCAD solutions is nothing new either. ARCAD and IBM Rational are both players in software configuration management. Their respective approaches to taking control of SCM processes make them highly complementary and offer their clients prospects for significant productivity gains in application change management.

An award for ARCAD at Innovate 2011
by Stephanie ZELKO, Marketing Manager |
This year our company was honored to be invited by IBM Rational to participate in the IBM Innovate 2011 conference, held in Orlando on 5-9 June 2011.
Above all, this conference, which is exclusively reserved for Rational Business Partners, allowed us to meet high-level decision-makers from the Rational team, and key partners and clients during IBM Innovate's Business Partner Development Day. This is a unique opportunity for a software developer like ARCAD to get a rundown on the latest Rational solutions, the various prospects and possibilities for partnerships and, of course, opportunities for emerging business for the coming year.
This conference is also the opportunity for IBM Rational to have some of its partners contribute and to reward the most deserving. ARCAD was awarded an honorable mention for the innovation prize in the Enterprise Modernization category at Innovate 2011. This prize is further evidence of a successful partnership and puts the spotlight on the integration of the ARCAD solutions into the Rational offering. |
