The arrival of this newsletter will coincide with the release of version 8.12 of the ARCAD solutions. Coincidence? Not at all - we couldn’t pass up the chance to share how excited we are about this new version. Once again we have made innovation a reality.

The major new feature of this version is ARCAD-Verifier’s ability to handle all types of user interfaces. Many of you had asked for this capability and we struggled for two solid years to find the stable, durable solution we were looking for. Our search is now over and our mission is accomplished. ARCAD-Verifier will now let you record man/machine interactions performed from any type of user interface – web, client/server, rich client, and of course 5250.

We must also note the arrival of a very useful new feature: the ability to execute scenarios entirely in batch, which means you no longer have to mobilize a PC for this task.

Thanks to this new version, ARCAD-Verifier will be able to secure all of the applications you have developed around your IBM i applications. It is high time to be able to show your users that you can guarantee full operation of all of the vital functions of your applications after major or minor software changes. It will be imperative to have the right tools in order to reach this level of maturity for your organization. Non-regression tests can be the most highly automated, and it is these tests that guarantee the acceptability threshold in reliability level of your software changes.

Another important piece of news: more and more of you have requested our company’s expertise in converting your information systems to UNICODE. ARCAD has developed a level of expertise in this field that is unusual in the market. We are pleased and proud to share this expertise with you and assist you in these technically demanding projects.

Lastly, we are delighted to announce our new status as an IBM Rational Business Partner. Our consultants completed the required certification programs with flying colors. Therefore, we are able to offer a whole range of IBM tools that complement our current ARCAD tools, together with our methodological know-how to implement them. This is one more big step forward in our policy of partnership with the IBM brand, since our companies share a common business line. This partnership should give rise to numerous synergies in the coming year.

The release of version 8.12 of the ARCAD solutions brings new functions to each of our products. I would like to focus on a new element this latest ARCAD-Verifier release will bring to your non-regression test management.

The increasing orientation toward the data monitoring part of non-regression test operations and the addition of a new multi-platform capture interface makes it possible to be entirely rid of problems of disparity in input interfaces.
