ARCAD Software has developed a solid, effective solution to this problem: Data Configuration Management (DCM). ARCAD introduced this innovation in 2004 to the world of software change management, and we are certain that this “Data Configuration Management” concept represents a major advance in automation. 

Most change management packages allow for the rudimentary transfer of data from one environment to another. Typically, this is accomplished by transferring the entire contents of a file. In order to be more selective, and transfer just the changed fields within certain records, programs need to be coded and maintained by users. 

ARCAD-Datachanger takes data management to a new level by allowing you to easily create complex definitions over multiple files, records, parts of a record, and even data areas, all without any programming on your part. End users of the software can then make data changes via their normal interface, and ARCAD will keep track of what data has been changed. The ARCAD technology is seamless and easy to use. DCM data type components become just another object to transfer even if they are made up of dozens of files and hundreds of records.
