ARCAD has developed solutions that automate the impact analysis (see the audit solution page) and code conversion in projects involving a database structure change.

ARCAD-Transformer propagates through all fields to detect any impact, and automatically modifies the source code to comply with the new structure:

• Search ALL fields in the database based on predefined, configurable criteria.
• Exhaustively search all processes by "propagating" through all fields derived from initial database fields.
• Modify or automatically insert source code lines that are impacted.
• Totally recompile all components and their dependencies.
• Automatically recover data during the transfer to production phase.

ARCAD’s approach to impact analysis and mass code conversion is the result of more than twelve years’ experience in the field of AS/400 application analysis, and many Year 2000 and Euro conversion projects. The product today also provides more refactoring features like, field type change, Field name normalization and UNICODE transformation of applications.

ARCAD-Transformer works in relation with the change management solution to manage concurrent changes (ARCAD-Skipper in our offer). By methodology, ARCAD-Transformer checks-out and applies changes at the latest possible moment to reduce the number of concurrent changes.  The automation in this area brings massive productivity gains, over 50% on average.
